A Message from Our President

Building CWC’s Future Together

Dear CWC Members,

What a wonderful beginning to our new program year!

Our September 16 Kickoff Luncheon & 15th Anniversary Celebration gave us the opportunity to reconnect, celebrate our history, and enjoy the friendships that have shaped CWC for 15 years.

Thank you to everyone who completed our post-event survey. I was very pleased with the overall response and grateful for your thoughtful comments and suggestions.

We are listening. Your input will help us shape future gatherings that are meaningful, enjoyable, and responsive to our members.

Back to the Basics

As our Celebration Planning Committee reflected on the September event, our conversation returned to something very simple: gathering and participating.

At the hear of CWC are the friendships and connections we build when we come together.

Our Clubs, Philanthropy, and Membership teams are keeping our three Jewels—Friendship • Philanthropy • Social—top of mind as they create opportunities for engagement and participation.

We also want to be good stewards of our CWC communication tools, using our monthly newsletter and Facebook page thoughtfully and purposefully to keep members informed and connected.

Building for CWC’s Future

Our Bylaws & Governance Review Committee continues its diligent work on the revised Bylaws and CWC’s first Code of Conduct. The Bylaws will soon be ready for member consideration and action, with information provided in advance.

There is also room at our leadership table.

We currently have two Executive Board vacancies: VP of Social and Parliamentarian.

I know there is a special CWC member ready to bring her gifts, ideas, and experience to the CWC table in one of these roles. If that might be you—or you simply want to learn more—I would love to have a conversation. Please reach out to me.

There is something very special happening at CWC, and this is a wonderful time to help shape what comes next.

Save the Date — December 16

Mark your calendar for our Safe Alliance Fundraiser & Holiday Luncheon on Wednesday, December 16. Venue details will follow.

Tammy Campbell, VP of Philanthropy, will share more in her newsletter article about this special opportunity to gather for the holidays while supporting our philanthropic mission.

As we move into October, I hope each of us will find a way to gather, participate, connect, and serve.

Our history brought us here. Together, we are building what comes next.

Together We Shine.

With appreciation,

Catherine

Hi Ladies,

Save the Date — Our Holiday Luncheon is December 16th!

Please join us for our CWC Holiday Luncheon benefiting Safe Alliance!

Wear something festive and come ready to enjoy a wonderful afternoon with friends. We’ll have fantastic vendors offering plenty of opportunities for holiday shopping — and maybe a little something for yourself, too!

By the way, Do you know a vendor who would be a great addition to our Holiday Luncheon? We are currently accepting vendor applications and would love your recommendations! Please have interested vendors reach out to me for an application and additional information.

Most importantly, we’ll be honoring Safe Alliance and the important work they do for women and children in our community.

Our location will be announced soon, so stay tuned for more details. I would love to see everyone there!
Yours in Friendship,
Tammy, VP of Philanthropy

Hi Members,

September was a busy month for CWC and for your Marketing Communications team, as we began looking beyond individual communications to how we can tell the CWC story more consistently and effectively throughout the year.

We began work on a 2026–2027 Marketing Communications Plan designed to support the Club’s priorities, strengthen member engagement and help introduce CWC to prospective members. We had also hoped to hold a member focus group in September to hear directly from you about the CWC experience. We didn’t receive enough participation and interest to move forward with a meaningful session at this time, but member input remains important. We’ll look for another opportunity later in the year to gather your perspectives.

One of the highlights of my month was sitting in on a Membership Committee meeting. I came away with a much deeper appreciation for the work already underway to welcome and retain members and attract new women to CWC. There is a great deal happening behind the scenes, and what I learned will be valuable as we develop the Marketing Communications Plan and determine how MarComm can best support Membership’s efforts.

September also kicked off our year-long celebration of CWC’s 15th anniversary via a stellar luncheon where we enjoyed a founders homecoming. Congrats to the committee that supported the event. MarComm continues its support as we look toward our Holiday Luncheon, scheduled for December 16. We recently developed concepts for a special holiday sub-logo that builds upon our 15th Anniversary identity and can help continue the celebration.

And sometimes the best way to understand what makes CWC special is simply to participate in it. I had the opportunity this month to join other members at a Bright Blessings volunteer event, coordinated for CWC by Gayle McKearin. I’m so proud that service like this is part of who we are. Just as meaningful was seeing firsthand how genuinely our time and help were appreciated by the nonprofit we were there to support.

All of these experiences - planning, listening, learning from other committees, celebrating our history and serving our community - help MarComm tell a more complete CWC story. As we move into October, we’ll continue working to make sure our communications reflect what makes this organization worth belonging to: friendship, service, and social.

Warm regards,

Terri, VP of Marketing Communications

No-Shows

We understand that plans can change unexpectedly, and we truly appreciate everyone's enthusiasm in signing up for CWC events. However, late cancellations and no-shows can make it difficult for hosts to manage reservations, seating, and event logistics, and may result in unnecessary costs for the Club or the event host.

We kindly encourage members to register only when reasonably certain they can attend and to keep cancellation deadlines in mind. If circumstances change, please update your registration or notify the chair or event host at least 48 hours in advance whenever possible.

Your consideration helps us create smooth, enjoyable, and successful events for everyone. Thank you for supporting our hosts and fellow members.

Hosts Are Always Needed

Our Club thrives because of the energy, creativity, and involvement of our members. One of the best ways to contribute is by hosting an event.

Hosting doesn't have to be complicated. Whether it's a coffee gathering, lunch outing, game day, museum visit, or special interest activity, hosting is a wonderful way to connect with fellow members while helping keep our calendar active and engaging.

When you see a canceled event on the calendar, it is often because a host was not available. The more members who step forward to host, the more opportunities we can offer for friendship, fun, learning, and connection.

If you've ever considered hosting, we encourage you to give it a try. Your participation helps ensure a vibrant and welcoming experience for all members.

Cancellation Policy

All payments are final. Cancellation made after registration closes will not be refunded or credited.  Members who cancel prior to close of registration will receive a club credit. We do not provide refunds or credits for membership dues or donations.
